The 5oz Foodie

In the battle of the bulge, Easter has dealt me a terrible blow... I allowed that sneaky rabbit to leave his enchanted candy in my home and now it has been consumed... And what do I have to show for it? A bigger number on the scale... Well, I will show you Mr. Bunny...  I will not get down on myself for indulging and enjoying the treats that were left for me... It is OK to treat yourself now and then, I just can't make a habit out of it... If I do then the 10 day fast would have been for nothing... So, thank you Mr. Bunny for visiting us this year, but next year how about no candy and maybe something I can put to good use... Like a gift card or movie tickets??? Just a thought... I realized something kind of important tonight... Even when we stop believing in ourselves, there is always someone there that doesn't stop believing in us... It may be a parent, a sibling, a best friend, a teacher, a co-worker, a boss, a spouse... They never stop praying for you, never stop dreaming for you, never stop believing in you no matter what... It's pretty powerful to think that and even more powerful to believe and except it... I am sure there are some that say that it isn't true, but I tell you it is... Even people that spend their lives alone separated from everyone, still have someone that believes in them... God believes in each and everyone of us... He knows our hearts and our minds even if we don't except ourselves or Him... He doesn't care where we come from or where we have been... All He cares is that we come to Him... He loves each and every one of us... Black, white, Asian, Jewish, Gay, Straight, Believer, Non-Believer... He loves us all ...

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you all took a moment today to think about what today truly represents. For me it isn't about the bunny leaving candy, but he does still visit me, it's about the price that was paid. The life that was given for me...and for everyone else in this world. As I drove in this morning to the number 1 vacation destination in the US, for the first time in a long time I saw all of the cars driving in a head of me and thought, imagine what it would be like if all of these people traveling to these four parks and all of the cast members working in just these four parks we pulling in to local churches to celebrate this Easter. It would be incredible. But everyone celebrates in their own way or ignores this time of year in their own way. He is Risen!
