Day 661...Year 2

I am loving that I am turning 40... I have loved being in my 30's but 40 just seems like a new adventure... Tonight I went to trivia night with some of my friends and it was a blast... Our team name was Oh No! Guess who's 4-0! And about half way through the contest the trivia guy came over to our table to see who's Birthday it was... When he returned to his table he had everyone in the bar raise their glasses and do a group toast for me, wishing me a happy 40th Birthday! Then a guy from one of the other teams came over and told me I do NOT look 40, he thought I was in my late 20's... I just wanted to give him a big old kiss, but I settled for a picture together... We didn't come in first, but we did come in 4th but it was out of 8 teams, so I think we did pretty good... :) To my friends that couldn't make it tonight, I missed you a lot but we will schedule another one so we can all be together... And come in 1st place this time!!! I have made some incred...

Day 565...Year 2

Tonight I got caught up with an old and dear friend of mine... We haven't talked in months and we realized it was way to long... Good friends can be hard to come by... When you have one or two, hold on to them for all they are worth... Musicsongbird

Day 543...Year 2

What a great day... It was my "Friday" and my BGF came down for a visit from STL... We had dinner with Mom and BFF, at the Catfish place, battled the Brazillian tour groups at Target and had dessert at home... It was so nice to kick off this weekend in such a fun way... Can't wait for the adventure to continue tomorrow... Sometimes it isn't a vacation away that you need, it's a visit from a good friend that you need to brighten your mood... Musicsongbird

Day 542...Year 2

Tomorrow is big... One of my BGFs are coming to visit and I can't wait! So much to do in such a little time, but I can't wait... Sometimes it's just nice to have a life long friend visit... Musicsongbird

Day 426...Year 2

Life is full of choices, and the choice we make can impact the rest of our lives in very small ways or in very big ways... 23 years ago, around this time my snarky teenage self was making rather crude jokes with one of my best gal pals after track practice... Now before everyone is like, wow she was a runner, keep in mind the only time I will actually run in my life is if there is a will animal chasing me.... I was a shot and discus thrower... But I digress.... While we laughing and joking about this young mans unfortunate clothing choice another young gentleman approached me who I didn't know from Adam and said spoke to me... At that point I could have ignored him and turned away, but I must have been intrigued by his candor and I spoke back and after all of these years we are still speaking... Well most of the time... BFF and I have been through many highs and many lows... We have been through family births and weddings and unfortunately family deaths...Through argumen...

Day 173 of 365

I had a nice day with Mom, BFF and BGF  having breakfast, then visiting Gatorland and then having Lunch. This evening BFF, BGF, LTBGF and I took a trip to the beach. We were able to reminisce about High School and have our own pre-reunion reunion. It was nice to just hang together like we did all those years ago and be ourselves. No one was anyone's mom, or wife, or employee, or boyfriend, or girlfriend, or son, or daughter. It was just four fantastic friends from high school getting reacquainted after many many years of separation. It was so nice to walk along the sand and run in and out of the waves taking funny pictures of each other and laughing and joking. As we sat in a beach side bar/restaurant I asked everyone, "Did any of you ever think back when we were in High School, that we would be sitting in some random bar in Florida all together 20 years later?" The only thing I knew back then is that BGF and I were going to be going away to college together in the fall...

Day 167 of 365

The sun, the sand the smell of the rain? If you have never been to Madeira Beach it's one of my favorite beaches to go to since moving down to Florida. They have clean beaches, clean bathrooms and just down the street is John's Pass, a shopping and dining area right on the Gulf. Mom, BFF, BGF and I made the trip this afternoon. It was a rough start due to the fact that we hit traffic as soon as we hit Tampa and an hour and a half trip turned into an almost two and a half hour trip to get to the beach. Thank you Floridiot drivers! (Slowed down to watch an accident on another part of the highway get towed, REALLY?!) The beach was beautiful, the weather was beautiful, the water was fantastic up until the giant black clouds started getting precariously close. So we changed into our shopping clothes and headed to John's Pass for some shopping and some belly stuffing. BGF tried Oysters on the half shell for the first time, she also tried Conch fritters and chocolate covered b...

Day 124 of 365

What an amazing day. I love when I have the opportunity to spend quality time with the people I love the most and see some beautiful things. Me, my Mom and my BFF spent the afternoon at Epcot's 19th Annual Flower and Garden Festival. We started out at the welcome center and enjoyed seeing two different presentations on plants, as we were leaving to head out to see the World and the flowers it contained we noticed my Mom's scooter wasn't running quite right so I got it down to the Stroller location to store it and then got a wheelchair so Mom could walk with it or if she needed it could sit and we could push her. It worked out great because it held anything we acquired along the way. As we explored the Festival together we laughed and joked, stopped to browse and of course Mom would see something she liked and then consider if she really wanted it. But what truly made this day so amazing is the ease we all fell into. My BFF doesn't have to watch out for me and my Mom...
